Does Absence Make The Heart Grow Fonder?

So after what seems like an eternity, I am back and blogging. Since the beginning of the New Year my life has morphed into one that I am still getting accustomed to. I have done two shows, fallen victim to a horrible stomach bug that wouldn't go away, and probably the biggest change of all has been getting used to living alone. No Mr. Pea and I haven't done the big D! Unfortunately the economy finally caught up to our family-owned carpentry biz and we are sadly closing that chapter. So, Mr. Pea has taken a job that involves travel~~something he used to do many moons ago~~and he is currently freezing his buns off in Oklahoma. That leaves me to fend for myself here at home and while I don't miss the snoring the house does feel empty and weird.

Anyhoo, I did want to finally share a few pics of the Renninger's show with you. I can't say it was one of my better ones but I did sell some big pieces and right now I think we have to be grateful for what we can get. Next, I will start to get ready for my HOME SALE which will be on FEBRUARY 7th. After that it will be time to head to Texas! I can't wait!!!!! Until next time, stay safe and keep junkin'!

New Year's Show

So the New Year's Day show was short but sweet~~only 4 hours, but it was a quality show and the line was long at 10am waiting on the doors to open. They came with intentions to buy and I am proud to say that I had a handful of faithful followers who drove almost three hours to come and support my efforts. Thanks to those precious friends! If you are ever in the Arcadia FL area I strongly recommend a visit to this quaint little town with its many antique shops lining the main street. Thanks to Flo and Don of Maddy's Antiques for putting together such an awesome event! Here are a few pics of my booth though it isn't quite as elaborate as usual. Enjoy and Happy New Year to all...

The Spirit Of Christmas

Christmas decorating has always been a favorite thing of mine to do, and I am finding that it gets a little more simple each year. That is largely a by-product of having owned a shop where the decor had to be over the top, so decorating at home gradually took a back seat. Though I no longer have the shop to decorate, I am enjoying keeping things simple and stick to a mostly white palette. Bits of color can be found here and there in vintage mercury glass ornaments and aged red linen heart ornaments made by a crafter in Indiana that was a previous vendor for my shop. I am also loving the glittery pine cones I found this year at Target and the silver trees from French Nest. I hope you will sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy the tour and the lovely sounds of Christmas.

Merry Christmas To All!

French Nest

The first time I walked into the shop called French Nest, I thought I was back at the Marburger Farms show in Texas. This charming little slice of heaven is so reminiscent of some of my favorite booths there that it literally transported me back to the show. Thankfully this shop is local and I can haunt it at will. Owned by Marsha Stokes and Edwina Carlisle, it is a gorgeous mix of all that is vintage and romantic with a touch of rust and crust that I truly adore. I do hope you will drop by and say hello the next time you are in College Park and tell them Sweet Pea says hello. Enjoy the pics...
