Every day I look at our little Arwen I am reminded or one of my favourite illustrators ~ Eloise Wilkin.
I have always loved the sweet scenes of the children in their everyday life situations.
I even have two little books from my own childhood and I would look over and over at my favourite pages longing for the 'home life' I would see depicted on the pages. I still love to look at these too.
This is one I think of when I see Arwen in her little 'piggy tales'
We Help Daddy is one of the books I read over and over to our older boys when they were little. Interestingly enough we have two versions of this book. One in 1973 where the Daddy is smoking a pipe and a later version where the pipe has been edited out of the pictures, but the Daddy still has the same hand positions. Not until you see the two together can you see the difference.
This is the other favourite book that we have read for many years too, We help Mommy.
I just love the way the children are involved in the day to day life in the home.
Our nature girl playing outside in one of the trees near the house.
Don't you love the little piggy tales on this sweet little head.
The Eloise Wilkin picture again....to sweet.
Autumn's favourite book as a little girl was Baby Dear and she had me read this one for ages too....
Corbyn's favourite books to be read: The Boy with a Drum along with Baby Looks, and Baby's First Christmas, we have two versions we would read to him.
I just love this picture from one of our books...My Little Golden book about God
This one could be our Arwen as well, as she sat today on the rocking chair with her baby love. A familiar site in our home.
These are some of the books we have by Eloise Wilkin that are family favourites in our home! It is hard to find images or links to all the books we have by Eloise Wilkin to share with you , but these are the ones I have found.
I hope you have enjoyed meeting one of my favourite illustrators and how much I love seeing her little girl in our little girl.
Blessings to you and your homes,
