As I come closer to the birth of our baby I look again at the value of Motherhood.
I know that there are some women who desire to have children but have not been blessed.
I know of some beautiful ladies who are going through the unhappy time of miscarriage.
I also know that some ladies struggle with the guilt that is forced upon them by our society -that if you have more than a couple or even a few and still desire more children then you are ether stupid or greedy.
As if the love we can bestow on lots of children would be less because of the numbers.
How can anyone of sound and reasonable mind doubt that children are a gift from God.
If we were offered a million dollars from God each couple of years we would not refuse, however everyday women and men are saying No to the greatest gift God entrusts to us....another human soul to love and cherish.
Love is spread by giving more love.
Sadly those people who seem bitter and lonely are those who limit the people they share their love with.....like it was a limited commodity, that can be used up!
How very, very sad!
Our Saviour's love is so generous and I believe when He asks us to live our lives as He did that the expectation is to LOVE like he does!
In fact the greatest commandment confirms this~
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Obviously from these verses, you can never give too much love and I believe Motherhood is a great training ground for this.
We as mothers have the opportunity each and every day to give so much love to those who are entrusted into our care.
And as I believe we are blessed indeed!
