Bubble Wands and Bubble Mix

Are you looking for a quick and easy activity to do with the children that will be extremely popular with them?

For our activities this year for the Feast of the Ascension part of what we planned was to make bubble wands and some home made bubble mixture.

This technically was a fairly easy activity for the day and obviously very much enjoyed by the children......even in Winter!
Coat hangers in various stages of bubble wand making
First off, I knew we had some broken covered wire coat hangers that we could cut up to use for  the bubble wands.

Next we shaped them into roughly circular shapes and secured the ends down with pliers. In fact they were a little harder to secure as they were quite tough to hold.
Bubble Mixture and wands
I made some bubble mixture using these quantities:
2 cups of hot water
1/2 cup of dish washing liquid- currently we use Earths  Choice brand
4 tablespoons of glucose

Mix to together and use.
Pour into a flat container to use and dip wands into it. It is nice and thick so you can actually 're catch' your bubbles without breaking them.

Enjoy your bubble making and playing!!

Blessings to you and your homes,
